Congratulations Andrew Nix and Eli Nix!!
Both students will compete virtually to represent the Show-Me State at Nationals
Over 5,000 motivated students in grades six through twelve participate in the National History Day in Missouri program each year. In April, over 400 students who advanced from regional competitions throughout the Show-Me State gathered virtually to showcase their exemplary work.
Each National History Day in Missouri project is unique, a result of extensive research and creativity from an individual student or group. The program encourages young scholars to present their findings their way through documentaries, exhibits, papers, performances, or websites. This year's theme is Communication in History: The Key to Understanding.
Both Eli and Andrew Nix competed at the State virtual competition after winning their SEMO Regional.
~ Eli, an 8th grader at CHS, completed a junior individual exhibit about the impact of "The Star-Spangled Banner" and what is has communicated throughout history and advanced to the 2021 National competition after placing 2nd at the State competition.
~ Andrew, a Sophomore at CHS, completed a senior individual exhibit about the Navajo Code Talkers and how their native language turned the tide in the Pacific Theater of WWII and advanced to the 2021 National competition after placing 1st at the State competition.
Usually held in the Washington D.C. area, this year's National competition will be held virtually in June.

New School Year - New Website
Message from Mr. Blackman
Superintendent of Chaffee R-2 School District:

As we begin this New Year and semester, we are pleased to announce that we have launched our newly redesigned Chaffee R-2 School District with our new website provider, SchoolMessenger. Our goal with this new website design is to provide families with an easier way to learn about our school and district events as well as keep up-to-date with classroom details and campus changes.
The new website has 3 separate, but integrated sites for our District, Elementary School, and Jr/Sr High School. It is interactive and gives better access to calendar events, school forms, and is mobile friendly. We will be constantly updating our content with helpful information, school announcements, and calendar events. We hope that our parents, students, and community find the new website design modern, easy to use, and that it will become a valuable source of information regarding school news, updates, events, policies, and procedures.
As with any new type of technology update, there could be a few glitches during the first few weeks, so please be patient.  We will also be launching a new Custom Mobile App in the near future, so please stay tuned for more information.
As stated above, the new Chaffee Schools website has 3 separate but integrated sites for our District, Elementary School, and Jr/Sr High School. You can visit our District site at chaffee.k12.mo.us and then get to the Elementary or the Jr/Sr High School site by using the “Select a School” dropdown menu at the top left of the website screen or by clicking on the “Our Schools” dropdown menu on the top menu bar. In addition, you can just visit any of the sites directly by using the following web addresses:
District website address: chaffee.k12.mo.us
Elementary website address: ces.chaffee.k12.mo.us
Jr./Sr. High School website address: chs.chaffee.k12.mo.us
